St John's family here. The last few years have all seen families go to Maret. Curious about the GDS and Potomac point. Are you saying GDS and Potomac different from each other or from St John's? Confused by point

Hi! Former St. John's parent here. I just meant that fewer parents seemed interested in those schools in my kids' classes. Potomac b/c it is far, and GDS because it is so progressive/informal when the parents at school seemed (to me) to be very traditionally minded. There are always exceptions, of course.

NCRC feeds heavily to Beauvoir. Very few people go from NCRC to public, where as many people go from St. C's to public.

Umm - Norwood isn't a preschool. It's K-8.

Why less so now?

I'm not sure why--may be because the quality of the other above mentioned pre-schools is on par with NCRC and may be because their are just so many qualified applicants from other schools as well.

Little Folks had been the place to be in recent years. Excellent outplacement and wonderful, nurturing school.

NCRC among others. NCRC is a wonderful inclusive school and community. Fantastic well trained teachers. Prepares kids extremely well through play based curriculum and many do go on to those schools. Many go to public too.

Are there any DC preschools that may provide a child a leg up in getting into Sidwell Friends, Beauvoir, Maret, St. Patrick's, or Georgetown Day? "Feeder" is probably the wrong word, but wondering if there are any preschools that send a relatively large number of children to the top elementary schools? Thank you!
