OP here - great question, thanks. Others may answer differently, but for me, I simply mis-phrased that. Actually having female clergy isn't important to me. Being open to having female clergy is. So it's a question for me as to whether the church welcomes women as equals.

I don't know about St. Peter's in Arlington so much, but I know St. George's is very much on the liberal side, has female clergy, and is on the easygoing side. I would visit several in the area.

Any members here? I'd love to hear more about your church. I'm seeking a church that's got robust kids' programming, inspiring sermons, and is open to my liberal (though I realize it's all relative) inclinations. Welcoming to diverse families, has female clergy, involved in ecumenical issues. Might this fit my family?
