On Seinfeld everyone who didn't live in the building had to buzz to be let in. They showed that all the time.

Pass by each other or in front of each other and never acknowledge each other

They also spend most of their time standing in front of their sofa, talking to each other. Who does that in real life? I don't think I've ever stood in front of my sofa to have a conversation.

And when they can't sleep, they just go sit at their kitchen table.

And if someone does knock, no one takes a second to make sure the person at the door is not a telemarketer or serial killer, etc.

And rarely do people check their caller ID before answering a call.

Just like reality shows, sitcoms are pretty much scripted.

Um, sitcoms aren't "pretty much" scripted. They ARE scripted (and nobody associated with them pretends otherwise).

The laugh track!
I can't stand the laugh track on sitcoms. So annoying.

I totally disagree! When are they supposed to knock but don't?

I thought you were going to say that trouble with sitcoms is they become the same show week after week. I don't even start sitcoms anymore because no matter how promising they are they will become the same boring formulaic show given time and popularity.

Nobody ever knocks, you notice that? They just open the door and walk in to a room. Every show.
