There are a lot of restaurants that have multiple locations. Doesn't mean they have good food.

This isn't a big corporate chain though.

disagree, as i've been there about 5x and still love it. some of their dishes are better than others though.

Count me a huge fan of Iron Rooster. Their grits, chicken & waffles, and pork belly/lettuce/tomato with fried egg on brioce is amazing. and homemade pop tarts.

Sunday brunch buffet - Severn Inn is definitely the best, hands down. But it is not in the downtown area... it's just over the bridge, with a beautiful view of the Severn River & naval academy. It's pricey, but well worth it (plus the price includes mimosas/bloody marys). You can't get that kind of view or upscale brunch in most places.

Miss Shirley's is also not too far from the main downtown area - on West St. But the wait time can be long depending on when you get there.

Rams Head is not bad. Joss Cafe for sushi.

Preserve has a VERY limited menu.

Chick & Ruth's for their 5lb milk shake... but I take that's not the atmosphere you're going for...

It's on West Street, but Miss Shirley's hands down.

Middleton Tavern near "Ego Alley" (the central downtown dock) or Boatyeard Bar and Grill in Eastport. Chart House has brunch on Sundays.

Avoid Buddy's at all costs. And I agree with the PP who said avoid Iron Rooster. I went there because of all the hype and the food was just meh and the atmosphere wasn't pleasant. Cafe Normandie's brunch is good, and the view at Carrol's Creek is amazing. Metropolotin is awesome, but pretty far up West Street if you're looking for something in the historic district.
Reynolds Tavern is awesome is you're looking for a real colonial-type atmosphere.
There are a million options on Main Street, and as long as you avoid Buddys, they'll all be fine.

We were in Annapolis recently for a wedding and had a decent meal at Iron Rooster.

A bunch of people went to Metropolitan based on recommendations but I didn't get a report one way or the other.

If you have kids I wouldn't do Harry Brown's, unless it is for Easter or Mother's Day. But as just an adult group it is a fine restaurant.

If you are there on a Sunday, I would do the Severn Inn, over the Navy bridge but good food and good views.

Don't do Buddy's at all -- horrible all the way around.

Boatyard Bar and Grill is Eastport is good. Iron Rooster is ok but not worth the wait and hassle but if you go during the week it's a fine choice.

Ram's Head up above the circle is still nice.

Preserve on the main street is suppose to be good, haven't tried it yet but planning to.

Cafe Normandy on main st has a good brunch. It is not a buffet. Carrols Creek (a five minute walk from downtown in Eastport looking back across the water at downtown and the Naval Academy) had a really good brunch buffet, it has gone down hill a lot. It is not terrible.

Harry Browne's on State Circle has a decent menu and buffet for brunch.

All thee are on Open Table and take phone reservations.

A bunch of people are going to chime in and tell you to go to Iron Rooster. Food reminds me of Cheese Cake Factory. And the service is hit or miss., usually a miss. And since it is the trendy place waits can be pretty long.
