OP said the holidays, which I'm assuming means December. I have never seen "good snow" at Wintergreen that early in the year. It has happened probably, but I've never witnessed it!

We stayed there in the summer once and I was very impressed. we rented a beautiful house. I would try it during winter.

Manmade snow, and many slopes won't be open. It is challenging skiing because of the slushy/icy nature of manmade snow, especially that early in the season. There are some nice places to stay, though.
