The girls feel that their considerable efforts will be worth it if they help even one child victim of sexual assault, and particularly if they encourage one parent to inform their child in order to protect them from such ugliness. It's hard for me to imagine that urban moms would not be interested and supportive of young girls trying to make a difference on behalf of other young children. They were 9 and 10 at the time of their assaults, and now, at 14 and 15, they are more determined than ever to make a positive difference. We're not trying to raise money on this site -- just raise parental awareness of an issue that could affect any child at any time. If it could happen in a nice town like Falls Church, it can happen anywhere!

He didn't say you were political he said there were lots of causes and they can't all appear here.

Jeff, I was the poster who responded. Thank you for deleting the OP's post. Falls Church is a mess right now, but many feel that certain folks in the City may possibly be leveraging an absolutely horrid situation for their own electoral gain. Which takes it to a whole new level of horrowshow. If OP and his/her group truly wanted to make a difference, I think there are many other, more constructive paths from which to choose.

It was not on-topic for General Parenting for one thing. The very first reply suggested that the topic would be controversial and GoFundMe posts are problematic in the best of cases. There are an infinite number of causes that would like to raise money. We really don't want DCUM to be used for all of them.

Hi Jeff,

There was a thread for this last night, but it seemed like it was deleted within minutes of it being posted. Can I ask why it was deleted?
