shelves will go over a base cabinet on the wall across from the range/dishwasher/fridge. quartz countertops, whiteish. light green backsplash but not on the side the shelves would be on.

If you're going for a less modern or eclectic look wood shelves would be a nice contrast.

Give us a better visual. Where are the shelves? Over the sink? An island? What is the countertop doing?

had thought of putting in white shelves but someone just suggested stainless or wood.
