My 14 yo DS would never skip his evening shower. My 17 yo DD will do this on Friday nights if she goes out after a day of school followed by work and is just too tired to change.

Be thankful he's not a nude sleeper like mine is. I think you've got the better end of the hygiene deal.

Pick your battles. This isn't one of them.

My stepkids do this. I agree it's unhygienic (and seems uncomfortable) but just compromise by having them wash the sheets more often.

My son would never do this and neither would my husband or me. We're grossed out by public places and like to get into comfortable pjs. My daughter does this on a regular basis and it drives us nuts. Yuck!

My 11 year-old DD does this but she usually ends up in her day top having pulled off her jeans. This is not the hill on which I choose to die.

It's not good sleep hygiene. Wearing PJs puts you in a different state of mind and prepares you for bed.

What the hell? Best part of my day is when I can get into my pajamas. Jeans are not comfortable

I think it's gross (one of my kids does it, the other showers a lot and I'm not asking why because at least he smells nice), but I just require him to change his sheets frequently.

I think it's gross, but sometimes my kids do this too. They picked it up from their dad. In my family, we always bathed and put on sleeping attire. I still do, and encourage the kids to, but hey, if they don't feel like it, it's their choice. There are far bigger battles to save energy for.

Yes, my 11 and 12 year olds do this. They mostly wear knit clothes during the day so really their day clothes are no less comfortable than pjs. I think it's weird but it's not an issue I'm interested in fighting them on. I just make sure they change before going to school!

My 12-y-o daughter does it a lot. It doesn't seem super comfortable to me, but her clothes don't get very dirty, so it doesn't bother me too much.

It's not really unhygienic . It's not like your kid will develop infected rashes or anything.

My 14 dd does this and pretty my 16 ds does also. They each have some flannel pajama pants but rarely use them. I agree, it seems uncomfortable to me.

I've gone to wake up DS (14) a number of times lately and found him fully clad in the clothes he wore the day before - jeans and all. This seems unhygienic to me, but he assures me "everybody does it". Assuming you know what your teens wear in bed, is this really normal? I get it after the occasional party night in college, but every night as a high schooler seems odd.
