Technically no school does. It's a vague descriptor and doesn't mean a kid has actual "behavioral problems" or has just been labeled this way by the current school. Being up front with your kid's struggles with the admissions people will allow them to be able if a kid is a good fit.

Ivymount MAP does not like to take kids with behavioral problems.

Do you mind elaborating a little more on your dc's issues and what other schools didn't work out? Do you think it is a good school for a child who is academically ahead but with behavioral problems?

This will be a tough sell any where.

You may want to add Ivymount MAP program to your list. And depending on your kid's age Parkmont or Lourie Center.

Kingsbury has a gifted and talented program I believe.
As far as behaviors I have heard of a couple of kids whose behaviors were too much for Kingsbury. My child had behaviors that other schools couldn't handle,
I agree that the best way to see if it is the right fit for your child is to go visit.
I'd prefer not to share details of my child's school experience publicly but am happy to do so privately...

All I know about it is I have heard they take public placements from DC but not FCPS.

I asked those specific questions because OP wrote "Parent here looking for right fit for SN". So I thought I was being helpful.

Kingsbury is a very specific kind of school for a specific population of kids. They have a great reputation but my understanding is that it is a school for children with greater needs than say Mclean or Lab.

They usually have a booth at the Exceptional School Fair - or whatever its called - its held at American University every year. I had a nice conversation with their admissions person. certainly seems like a great school, but a school is only good if your kid is the right fit. otherwise, its a total disaster.

No, it's not. There are a range of kids. Obviously, you don't have a kid there nor have you ever taken the tour. I bet you don't even know anyone who goes there.

The OP was asking for feedback about Kingsbury and probably going to asses "fit" based on how Kingsbury parents responded.

OP, Kingsbury postings are pretty slim for whatever reason. We toured and applied but we ended going somewhere else. But touring is a good start. Your kid can also visit for the day if you apply.

I don't think we do need that much more about the OP's child. She's already looking at the school. She's looking for feedback from current Kingsbury parents.

OP, I'd say it's worth the tour.

Well, YOU certainly are a fount of information!

Not OP.

No kidding.
