Nope. Takes a week. We had ours done during a reno. It was a disaster and we needed it redone. Yep - started from scratch after already going through it.

We moved to the basement for a week. We were allowed to access the fridge twice when they were there but otherwise - we were never allowed upstairs. We obviously had a way to get out from the basement but if you do - that's an option.

We just redid our floors recently and we went with oil-based. Oil based is more durable but has a longer dry/cure time. I would give at least 6 days (day 1- sanding/stain put down) to day 6 putting furniture back in place. (or moving in).

For waterbased, it is much quicker and you can move in 24 hours after last coat, and the coats can be put down in 2 days total. So I'd push your move back to Monday or Tuesday and let the refinishers start Thursday with water based.

Some finishes yes, but I would try to push back move in a week or two. It to do a good job depending on the house size, it takes a few days to sand and several top coats with need time between.

If you use Waterborne Polyurethane floor products, you'll have the best chance. Advice: use the same company products and be sure to apply sealer between stain and many coats of durable finish. Two coats of finish is not sufficient.

I did read that even waterborne finish further cures, so be careful when moving in the heavy furniture. Good luck.

We are buying a house that needs to have the floors refinished. We have a very short window between settlement and moving. We close on a Thursday and need to be moved in no later than the following Sunday. Can you get floors refinished and "cured" enough to walk on in 4 days?
