I second this website! I've been on here for 4-5 months and have made over $400 (about $100 a month). It's great to have the extra cash to use for special outings or gifts. It's easy to do while watching TV. I highly recommend signing up and testing it out. It's free to sign up. There are surveys as well as offers and other trials - some are completely free to do (like newsletter sign ups). It's well worth it for my family.

I do swagbucks - same idea as this site - but I would hardly say it's amounted to that much. I think I netted maybe a $100 in amazon gc last year? The highest amount of points always comes from the trial offers which require you to sign up with a credit card and then cancel and even then sometimes you get stuck calling and calling.

PP here from 20:22. I have never once submitted my CC information on anything, I'm not stupid. If it asks for an email address, I use another alias I created specifically for the survey site, and I never input my real phone number.

Please note, Overall Earnings = $386.91. I signed up for this on July 5, 2015. That's approximately 3 months of activity. I'm assuming you either didn't figure out the best surveys to complete or you only invested a few minutes of time.

PS, Swagbucks doesn't have nearly as many opportunities as InstaGC: http://www.instagc.com/732296 , I've tried both.

What level of effort are you attempting to dedicate? Several good ideas in this thread that fit a range of ideas, others that have yet to be suggested. Here's my take on things so far.

Low Effort:
Survey Sites, like the link posted earlier

Medium Effort:
Babysitting
Effortless P/T work

High Effort:
Yard work for neighbors
Picking up scrap metal and recycling it for $$

Until we know how much effort you want to put into getting some $$, the suggestions can be all over the map. Personally, I like the survey site idea. It's something I can do while at work and things are slow or even at home when watching TV. Hell, I'm already wasting time on DCUM for no revenue, I might as well do a couple surveys for some cash.

Great idea! Thanks. I've been looking around and it's hard to find a reasonable site to do this. So far, so good.

Babysitting. If a friend told me they were trying to make a little cash I would absolutely call them first. Havin a sitter you know and trust, plus helping a friend. Win win.

Same goes with pet sitting or house watching. You may know people going away over thanksgiving who are looking for someone to checki in on their place, collect mail, feed cats, etc.

That's a lot of work for a fairly small rate of return. Consider you not only need a truck, but also some muscle. You have to dedicate yourself to it and you have the expense of gas. I'll stick to the survey links above. I signed up on the link the PP suggested a couple days ago and already generated $23.50.

Sounds silly, but scrap metal recycling. Pick up old fridges, washers etc off craigslist and drop them off at the metal recycler.

Not all of them involve investigational drugs, vaccines etc. Some are just simple blood draws and having an MRI or other non-invasive tests. I've even participated in a dental study there where they just take my saliva to examine for oral bacteria! Pays pretty good depending on the study.

Amazon Turk may be an option. Depending on how much cash and what income level we are talking about here, one tip I like: I max out my 401K in November of every year rather than in December. The extra cash for Christmas just shows up magically that way. My firm does a true up in August of every year for these situations so I don't lose in any matching either (although I would if I ever leave between December and August, seems like a small price / risk).

Instacart, tutoring, selling unused or older electronics, mystery shopping. The website pennyhoarder.com has lots of ideas and some lists of legit survey and mystery shopping companies.
