Thanks, 18:07- those are helpful. My color scheme is similar to the second one. I do want to avoid too many colors but the wood floors in the dining room, living room (very light cream) and entry (very pale yellow one shade darker than the living room) look good with warm colors.

I think the white kitchen needs a cooler color although I do think a light yellow would be fine. I guess maybe I'll try a gray or a light blue like 14:25 suggested. I do have some dark blue accents in the dining room. DH didn't want more yellow. Thanks!

Boring and old lady.

Actually, OP's house sounds like the 1960s mid-century color schemes. Orange and yellow does not sound appealing. Tone it down with some white/neutral.

I would do the pale yellow. Maybe in a slightly different shade than the front entry hall, but I think that having too many different colors is very jarring. The fact that your dining room is orange would make anything other than yellow (or a neutral, like grey or taupe) look like a kindergarten classroom.

I think you're on the right track, OP.

Google blue, orange, yellow color schemes to find something that speaks to you, e.g.:

Red accents don't sound like they go with mint green. What are the accents, exactly? How about a blue, or sea glass?

Struggling with choosing a kitchen wall color. White hi-gloss cabinets, light gray countertops, white tile and backsplash. Red accents. I am leaning toward super-light mint green but my dining room is orange and I am concerned the contrast might be a bit jarring. Also thinking about pale yellow but my front hall and entry are pale yellow so I want to avoid yellow overkill. The walls previously were wallpapered gray and to me, the kitchen sort of had a dentist-office feel.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
