Lee Firestone is in the same office at Dr. Schwartz. My husband saw Dr. Firestone for a neuroma. Dr. Firestone has also spoken to my running group about foot injuries/problems, including neuroma. He is a runner and is great for a runner.

Got a recommendation here at DCUM for Dr. Jay Ryan at VA Foot and Ankle in Fairfax. TOTALLY worth the drive. He is so much more responsive than other docs I've seen, and he does not rush to surgery. He actually even recommended against physical therapy, saying I'd do as well with some temporary braces and then orthotics, and knowing that I have a toddler at home and work full time. He thought it coudln't hurt, but it would just be way too much time for not much benefit. I think he was right - doing very well with the supports he recommended so far.

I live in Arlington, but drive out to Fairfax to see Dr. Zakee Shabazz. He used to be in DC, but is now affiliated with Fair Oaks hospital. He's a foot& ankle surgeon vs. being a podiatrist. However, I've seen some terrible podiatrists in Arlington, and really prefer his expertise as a surgeon. I haven't had surgery and he tends to try to avoid it at all costs. Can anyone recommend a good podiatrist either near-ish to Arlington or in DC? I'd like to find someone who is conservative in treatment (doesn't rush to recommend surgery and is open to physical therapy and other non-surgical options). If you know of anyone who would be good to treat Morton's neuroma that would be great.
