Couldn't have said it better. Mattress salespeople remind me of used car salespeople. Lots of marketing buzzwords, price points, etc... Throw in the fact that different retailers have mattress manufacturers create retailer-specific brand names (or agree that only 1 or 2 retailers can carry a particular brand) prevents consumers from comparison shopping.
I just want to walk in, lie down, find a comfortable mattress and negotiate a fair price without gimmicky discounts (i.e. 50% off an inflated MSRP to look like a good deal). I'd also like to avoid a $200delivery charge. That's literally highway robbery, particularly if you're buying a mattress that only costs $500-$800.
Yep, Urban Mattress is the perfect place to go. They deliver for free and will take away your old mattress. They brought our mattress the next day. We were looking at spending $1500 for a subpar mattress elsewhere. We ended up with the Lumina luxury firm from Urban Mattress $699 for a queen. They had pricier mattresses, but we really liked this one. 2.5 years later we still love it.

I believe it was significantly cheaper than buying from Room and Board
