I have one and love it. I got it because when I was college I worked at a restaurant in the summer and the wait staff shared vacuuming responsiblity and the restaurant had a backpack one. It was awesome. So now, fast forward 25 years and that's the style vacuum I use.

Folk at our work use it. It is loud.

So I have this crazy thought....I have tons of hardwood floors to vacuum in my house and was wondering if any other folks on here have used a backpack vacuum in their home? I feel like it would be a lot faster than vacuuming the floors with my Miele canister dragging behind me. I have a Dyson stick which is AWESOME for quick clean ups but the battery doesn't last long enough to get through all of the floors. I've tried using a dustmop but with two shedding dogs I eventually miss clumps. Every two weeks someone comes in and cleans my home but I still need to keep up with it every few days or it would be a complete zoo. Anyone else try this? If not, what works for you with large expanses of open hardwood floors?
