I'm really, really shocked by this thread. Didn't realize there were so many women out there with sticks this far up their asses. They're EARRINGS. Literally the least offensive thing in the world.

I have two. Thought about it for over a year before doing it. I still like it and wear studs in the second hole. I've noticed many women have them, including women who work in conservative industries.

I got my second hole done with my sister (mom my right it was a good idea-ugh!) Huge regret! I only wore the second studs in the late 90s (end of high school for me) I keep hoping they'll close, but they don't. I've even considered having them surgically closed, but luckily you can barely see them... Unfortunately, I still know they are there. Please don't do it!!!

I'm 50 and got double piercings in my late teens. I probably stopped wearing a second earring in the same ear in my mid-20s.

DD who is now 16 is asking to get a second piercing and its totally out of the question because I think it looks trashy, and I totally regret ever doing it.

I think a 39 year old knows herself well enough to know if she'd like this. Do it if you like. I don't think it's an issue with work, either. Can always go with a small stud in the second piercing if one is really concerned.

I'm the one that said go for it. But I guess everyone here has valid points. I never had it done but think it looks cool. Plus we are at the age where you can put very fine jewelry there.

oh well. Get your bellybutton pierced instead!

I think I had mine done when I was 15 or 16. I wore earrings in the second hole for maybe a year. I'm 40.

80s girl here 42 now. Have three in each ear. Now I am WASPy and conservative and wear diamond studs in the extra two on each side. Just leave them out for formal/fancy schmancy dress up occasions.

If you want it go for it. If you hate it no one is going to notice the second hole and it'll close. No harm done.

I'm very well established in my career with 3 piercings in each ear. Many of my coworkers have piercings and/or visible tattoos. Nobody bats an eye.

Mind you, I live in a much more liberal place than DC. But I have a lot of respect for those who do what they want with their appearance and are still able to carry themselves professionally at work.

I had my ears double pierced as a teen in the 90s, and I wish my mom had been more enthusiastic in preventing this. I haven't worn more than one earring in each ear since high school, and one second piercing closed over, but the other is still visibly pierced. I hate it. I think it looks trashy next to the pearl or diamond stud that I wear every day now.
