Bring swim shoes or rain boots. We went to the outlets the day it rained.

We stick it out for a few attractions, eat and head back early. We once tried to watch a parade during rain at Magic Kingdom. It really was not enjoyable. Thankfully we never had full day rain, usually just afternoon rain.

Took extra care to not slip and kept going. The rain stopped after a couple of hours. DD didn't care. She was at freaking Disney!

Absolutely this! Also, if we were going to the parks during hurricane season (or if a lot of rain was in the forecast for the day) we'd bring a pair of flip flops or super light sandals with us for everyone. Much more comfortable to not be in socks or closed shoes in the rain! We just put them all in a plastic bag together and off we went!

It happens a lot and the parks don't empty out as much as you'd think. Most people buy or bring a poncho and carry on. The real issue is lightening, which closes every outdoor, uncovered ride at WDW.

We all bought Disney ponchos as well. Our shoes were soaked and didn't dry for the next day, so pack extra shoes and socks. Also a few rides weren't working because it was a huge downpour and affected their mechanics. Other rides and entertainment had short lines because fewer people were there on such a rainy day.
