I need some help with an oddly shaped dining room. This is basically what it looks like. The wall in the foreground that you can't see is a bank of windows.
My issue is this is new house and we have an existing dining room set. We don't have a ton of dining room furniture -- a table, 6 chairs, and a buffet -- but due to the shape of the room I'm afraid there is no place to put the buffet. The only walls that could fit it are the one you see above where the floating shelves are (this is not our actual dining room so we don't have the shelves), or the wall with the windows. It would essentially block the bottom half of the windows. The wall with the floating shelves shown is wide enough, but the buffet seems too deep and would be too close to the dining table and chairs.
My husband's solution is to separate the pieces -- keep the dining room table and chairs in the dining room, and put the buffet in the "Breakfast Area" off the kitchen.
Here is our dining set:

Here is sort of our kitchen table, and chairs match that coloring:

I'm not a matchy matchy person but these two sets don't go together at all in my mind, whatsoever. Also the kitchen and family room are much more "light and bright", so the buffet just doesn't work. I suppose another option is to put the whole dining set in the Breakfast Area (kitchen to family room is very open so it would fit), and put something else in the dining room -- either new or the kitchen set.
Any ideas as to how to fit these pieces in this curved dining room? Is it a total faux pas to block some of the window with the buffet? I never want to reduce natural light but I also really don't think there is another good option!!
