OP here. We use our rain boots a ton. DC wears them all the time. Rain, snow, or sun. Hot or cold. She loves them!
At least the BOGS I bought, which maybe weren't the right ones, didn't actually seem to be all that warm to me. I was hesitant to use them in the snow. That's why I said no. But if you're wearing them daily, well maybe. I have rain boots but don't wear them that much. But we don't commute by foot, so trudging through puddles is something we do for fun. I don't see the point in spending a lot for something like that.
