I've had parents put paper invites in the students home folders in their home folders in their backpacks. Have you checked if the school directory is also online? Ours is online and then about a month into school they issue the printed copy.

Write notes to the parents of the invitees asking for an email address so an invitation can be sent and ask the teacher to give the notes to the students.

We decided not to do a party because we are not in a position to host the whole class. One thought. If any of the friends have older.brothers or sisters maybe the PTA or another parent can loan you an old directory.

We are in Arlington but in K, particularly before the directory went out, the teach allowed us to bring them in and they went into the Friday folders.

So no I didn't hand them out in school but they were distributed discreetly in school.

Agree that you should ask the room parent

So our class teacher sent a somewhat strange email asking us if we were interested in celebrating a kid's party bc the parents couldn't reach out without the directory, since it wasn't ready. My DD has never mentioned the birthday boy, so I felt odd responding to ask for an invite, but I guess it's because they aren't allowed to pass along contact info or invites. Otherwise the teacher could have forwarded the invite itself to everyone. It seems like a reasonable rule that maybe shouldn't be enforced so strictly in the beginning of the year.

Hand out the invite through your child. Give your complete contact info in the invite. Ask parents to RSVP through email.

It is early in the school year, so even the room parents are still collecting the information.

If your daughter's classroom has one, check with the room parent. They usually make a point to coordinate with the teacher to collect emails so they can communicate with families throughout the year. That's what worked for us.

I don't know if the teacher can give out email addresses due to confidentiality. It's one thing for parents to elect to put the information in the student directory, but something entirely different for a teacher to send all that info out to another family without the first family's permission.

Some parents at my school don't publish their contact information more than a phone number.
