What about a leak alarm? We have this and it's $10 at Home Depot http://www.amazon.com/Glentronics-Inc-BWD-HWA-Basement-Watchdog/dp/B000JOK11K/ref=zg_bs_7491105011_1

You also should upgrade the water line to one that doesn't flood: http://www.watts.com/pages/whatsnew/floodsafe_connectors.asp

After a bad experience with a leaking dishwasher, I want to minimize the risk of leaks in my appliances. I already got a dishwasher leak pan. I would like to get a similar product for my refrigerator. Measures are 33-7/8 overall depth, 32-7/8 overall width. Questions:

1) is there such a product for refrigerators? Or do they usually come with their own metal trays underneath that serve as leaking pans.
2) For the dimensions mentioned above, does anyone have recommendations? (I presume it has to be black, since I have a stainless steel fridge with black sides).

Thanks.
