Like in bed at 8:00. Warm liquids only, preferably broth. Saline spray and gargle with salt water. Honey. Steamy showers. But mostly, go to sleep.

Saline Solution/Neti pot to drain the sinus and nose part
Hot tea (throat coat from Whole foods) with honey during the day to help with the sore throat
up in liquid in take to stay hydrated
Cough drop for sore throat

Also if its a really bad sore throat it could be strep, but usually the tender throat is from nasal drip so if you get rid of that with saline then you will fee better.

Traditional Indian herbal remedy: 1/2 or 1 teaspoon of turmeric in warm milk. Doesn't taste great, but works!

Gargling really helps the throat. With salt and baking soda. I also like zerbees mixes which is a vitamin and honey mix you put into hot water. I've had a horrid cold and stuck it out with tea and honey and gargling since I'm pregnant. Also try the menthol cough drops to soothe the throat.

The saline washes, like a netty pot.
I have a squeeze bottle one that you spray up one nostril and let drain out the other. Best way to clean out the gunk-you will be amazed at what comes out.

Zinc- something like zicam, I use the spray and it is amazing for early colds, when you first feel the tickle in your throat

saline nose spray - then throw out bottle, don't use thru multiple colds
Advil for throat inflammation
drink lots of fluids
get a lot of sleep

I had an awesome minute clinic doc recently who gave me this advice. Prior to this I had been using Sudafed during the day & Benadryl at night, which was masking symptoms and giving me sinus infections from drying out my sinus' TOO much. Feel better!

1500 mg of Vitamin C & in the am 1500 in the pm.

Gargle with warm salt water.

Take municex and hot showers.

Eat lots of fruits and veggies or a smoothie.

Try hot tea with honey or sucking on a cough drop.

This one lasts right at a week. Good luck!

I cannot take off from work so I have to work thru this one. I am talking OTC cold medications that cut some of my symptoms but my voice and throat are raw. I am drinking lots of fluids.

Any tips would be appreciated! TIA.
