Our team is pretty low key. And blessedly not uptight about sugars and processed food, for upper NW!

We bring small bottles of Gatorade, honest juices, variety packs of teddy Graham's, goldfish, kid cliff bars, clementines, stuff like that bring enough for siblings, they will take some even if they shouldn't.

Our kids play HARD. I couldn't care less if they eat some cookies and Gatorade after the game.

I think the snack is more for the social side. We usually bring something crunchy and salty like Pirate's Booty and some sort of fruit. I always wonder about the drink. Water? All the kids have water bottles but they are often empty by game' send. I don't like to bring individual disposable plastic bottles. A few big gallon containers to re-fill? Or juice boxes? We don't often have them. Kids love; parents not so much.

Although I still don't understand why small children need a snack break because they are running around for 45 minutes. They are 6 yera olds. They could run around for hours happily without being fed. Pretty sure it's just a way to make helicopter moms feel important. And the rest of us feel annoyed.

+1 I vote for just water. There is no need for snacks at every activity.

Keep it simple - no need for a goody bag of treats!

Apples
Cut up oranges in ziplocs bags to hand out.
Goldfish
Pirates Booty

Snack time is my DD's favorite part of soccer!

Orange slices are also great! No peeling. Hand one parent a trash bag for the empty peels as you hand out the slices.

I brought clementines to my son's game last year, and while the kids liked them, none of the moms and dads helped the kids peel, so I was stuck dealing with trying to peel 11 clementines. It was a big pain. This year I am doing grapes.

My view is that if they aren't hungry enough to eat fruits and vegetables, they aren't all that hungry.

Agree with this completely. I would throw in low-fat cheese sticks to this list. Most of the time my kid does not eat the snack anyway.

Clementines, apples, grapes, bananas, string cheese, water bottles. Please not Oreos and blue gatorade like last weekend at our baseball game. My kid ate it (happily, of course) but what's the point? I'm not even a junk food nazi but I don't understand why people bring that stuff when the point is to refuel after 60-90 minutes of activity in the sun.

My DD is signed up for soccer and we will be alternating with other families to bring snacks for after the game. I am wondering what's liked, acceptable, and what's not? For a co-ed bunch of 6 year olds in NW DC? I was thinking clementines & goldfish, but then it doesn't look like clementines are in season right now.
