Is the other woman better looking than the friend?

She's doesn't sound like a good friend , you have seen her in 4 months. Since she is only an acquaintance you need to stop being a busy body.

This has happened to me multiple times.

What I do, is the next time I see the wife (and sometime in front of the husband) I say.

"Oh, I saw George at Hunan Palace in Fairfax, I love that place do you guys go there often?"

Then I let them deal with it.

Twice it was an affair. One divorced the other didn't.

If I hear about an affair I don't say anything, If you are stupid enough for me to see it... I say something.

These people are not your friends, they are people you know through your kids. And it seems like all your social activities are through the kids (saw them at a playmate, at a birthday party). Totally not your business.

They are not Asian. My friends at dinner were Asian.

I was just saying that this place is pretty far from where you live and definitely not the type of place for a work dinner. It's just out of the way. The family lives less than 5 min from our house.

If you haven't seen them together in 4 months, and they've skipped out on things you've invited them to as a family, it's entirely possible they are separated.

That said, if they aren't, and he clearly saw and spoke to you, I'm guessing he's already told his wife about it (whether what he told her is true or not, who knows). I'm guessing if he did, you won't have to be the one to bring it up, because she will "Oh, Jim said he ran into you when he was out with his coworker for Chinese" or something like that.

I think we did a play date last spring sometime and saw one another at a birthday party in May. It has been 4 months. I have seen the dad at drop off last week. Have not seen the mom at all.

I actually invited our normal crew over last week after school started. Everyone came except them. I was surprised they did not respond at all. I still see child at school. I wonder if they separated over the summer.

Are you sure they aren't separated? If you haven't seen them for months, they could be.

We are friends with a family from school. Our children have been in the same class for 3 years and have hung out multiple times at their house, our house and at mutual friends' houses. Did not see the family over the summer. No big deal.

Today I went out with a few friends to an Asian restaurant pretty far from our house and school. My friends are Asian. My friend's husband was there with another woman. Totally looked like a date. He was not wearing his wedding ring. He reluctantly said hi to me when he was leaving as he walked right by where I was sitting and we made direct eye contact.

Does this sound like an affair?

It felt like a scene straight out of SATC where you get taken out to some Asian restaurant in a neighborhood no one you know goes to.
