Check out procelanosa on rockville pike. Its a specific manufacturer of tile, but its a beautiful showroom with a lot of beautiful tiles you can touch and play with. I have used porcelanosa on two kitchens and two bathrooms, so I am biased, but it can at least give you great ideas of what you would like. The rockville showroom also has showers, bathrooms, etc that you can look at for ideas.

For granite choices you should go to the slab yard in Merrifield. It's off of Dorr Ave. You don't need an appt to walk around. It is only the slab yard though. They do not fabricate. But there are lots of fabricators in the area that will work with whatever slab you choose. Or you can just go and see what colors are available and what you like.

For the bathroom - any tile store will have a staff person to work with you.

We bought a newly built single family home 2 year ago. I had a infant and toddler back then so we did not do anything to the house despite the fact that I never liked the kitchen and master bathroom. Hate the color of our kitchen cabinets and granite counters. Also don't like the colors of our master bath.

Are there any places in NOVA where I can go to touch and feel shower doors, model baths, tiles and granite?

I have been watching HGTV and have an idea of colors I want. I like white, gray, white/gray marble or espresso. Our current home is a mix of this brown color, kind of like chestnut, that I hate and this brown/black granite that I also don't like. Builder went really cheap on shower doors, fixtures and lighting. I am hesitant to pay money for an interior designer. I think I just want to swap out colors.
