It is MLM, but it's one I will buy from because I would buy the books anyway. So I don't terribly mind getting hit up for this one as long as it's near the holidays so I'm better prepared to know what my 5 year old is into and how her attention span is going for various types of books.

She loves the dinosaur book I got last year.

This is a good thought...guess I could buy ahead for my nieces and nephews for Christmas. I have only bought the Usborne books that either address current obsessions or upcoming trips (i.e. the airplane one). I don't actually love reading them, and DS seems bored with them. He's almost 3 and seems to like story books more than pointing to items in the pictures.

Someone on our neighborhood list serve just arranged an adult coloring party and she said that she is using USborne books. She hasn't said she is selling them but I heavily suspect that it is a MLM party........I'm sure the unsuspecting guests have no idea.

Yes, it's MLM and the parties don't generally make money for the person hosting the party - they just get free product. I do like their books but as you said they are available lots of places.

MLM

My SIL sent out an "invite" to a "Facebook party" for Usborne books. Is this one of those MLM things, too? I've seen their books in regular stores and the library, and in fact, SIL just gave DS one for his birthday. I decline any and all MLM invites and do not participate in anything, but it will be harder to say no, as this is my brother's wife. They are definitely hard up for cash right now, and I'm wondering if someone is trying to rope her into something. I think she's just "hosting a party," from what I can tell, but I know how those MLM things are, where they try to get you to become a consultant or salesperson or whatever.
