Any insight into the size /visibility of the LGBTQ community on campus, and how accepting LGBTQ students find the environment?

Pp again, don't agree that undergrads are neglected. Most of my classes were small seminars with professors, not TAs. The exceptions were classes which would have been larger lectures classes anywhere, like intro level economics.

I went to Jhul undergrad and then a top ten law school. International studies major. Social life if fine, there are plenty of parties for kids who are social and Greek life is big among that group. There is plenty of company for kids who prefer to hang in the library. Hopkins actually has excellent sports teams, although outside of lax, they are division 3,

Neighborhood around the campus is urban but perfectly fine. About a half mile away, it gets more sketchy. I never had any issues, and I'm female and went to the school back when students spent three years living off campus. The school has since built a lot more on campus housing.

JHU still has merit scholarships while the Ivies don't.

It's known for its graduate programs and research, and the undergraduate get neglected (or not focused on). Research that part, OP, as it's known for that. My DH went to undergrad there.

The short version:

1. Excellent and Rigorous Education

2. Poor social life

3. Crappy OCI recruiting for the most popular 'elite' jobs that students of peer institutions want - banking & MBB consulting. I know JHU alums that placed well in both but they had to work a lot harder compared to Duke or Georgetown grads.

DS is interested. I've never been on campus. I know the neighbood around it isn't the best. That's about all i know. TIA.
