The new head of school will add luster to the school. It will become another Beauvoir-type option.

We applied a couple years ago and were waitlisted. It's a great school, and I have never heard anyone complain about it. My only concern would be that it is small. That can be a wonderful blessing for the right child. Some kids, though, need a bigger environment.

We applied this year and loved everything about it. The teachers and staff seem to really believe in the value of a small, nurturing school focused only on early childhood. Admissions process is warm, friendly, and down-to-earth. The kids were remarkably cheerful, confident, and affectionate with each other and their teachers, and they seemed to feel very comfortable in their environment. Everyone just seemed very happy and friendly, including the other parents at their admissions events. PreK class is Reggio-inspired, and the upper grades' curriculum/environment seemed somewhere between traditional and progressive - not too far in either direction. I can't speak directly to the math curriculum, but I assume the kids are well-prepared given their impressive outplacement.

I've only heard great things about it from neighbors who send their kids there. Be glad it's not mentioned mucH - that's a good thing!

Hi,

I've searched the archives but there's not a lot of recent discussion of this school. Could any current parents talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the school? I'm particularly interested in the math curriculum. Also, how is the school's diversity initiative (discussed in 2009 threads here) going?
