I hope there is a wildlife rehab that can help you in the morning.

I made a little shelter for him out of cardboard, since the pet store was out of one's small enough to fit in the terrarium. The guy told me that having somewhere to hide under will do a lot to reduce stress.

Is there anything else I can do to bring down his stress level?

I know nothing about toads (not an amphibian/reptile person). Sorry. I'm not sure how easily they heal from something like this. I think that the cardboard hiding spot is a good idea.

Vets are closed now, I will take it in tomorrow.

The guy at the petstore said he doesnt even know if a wildlife shelter will accept it though. He said I might have to nurse it back to health myself

Thank you.

And I didn't know so I asked the pet store. They told me to buy crickets so I did, along with a few other items I didn't name.

I would love to keep it and nurse it back to health myself but I don't want the legs to heal wrong

It's a toad. You're probably not going to find a rescue center to help it.

I brought it home and then went out and bought a teranium, food, and a water dish for it.

I hope to bring it to a rescue center tomorrow so they can try to heal it but I'm worried they won't take him/her

I know you feel bad - I would too. But I THINK if you leave it outside, in the open, a cat or other predator will come and eat it. Circle of life.

Toads are actually invasive species, so good job!

Just take a brick to him and put him out of his misery

Oh that sucks, I'm sorry! I suppose you could always try...how soon do you think you could have someone look at it?

Will a wildlife rescue center take a toad and nurse it back to health?

I accidentally stepped on one and broke two of it's legs
