Love my Miele. Do a google search for the reddit AMA with a vacuum repairman, that's what he recommends!

+1. Went to Stroneiders, they counseled me on the one to get, and i can bring it back there if it's ever broken.

Love my Miele and have had it for 11 years. However, had 2 issues with it this year (both fixed and running fine), and the vacuum sales person recommended a Sebo. I needed a second one anyway and picked up the Sebo, which I also love. Also German, great warranties, and cheaper than the Miele. Brothers Sew & Vac has them (and great service!)

Another vote for Miele. We had Labs that shed like crazy. The bagless vacuumns were a horrible mess to clean out. Fur stuck all over the filter. The bagged Miele is a dream! Works consistently and is very easy to take care of.

I also really like my shark. No bags which is nice.

Love my Shark Rocket. It's been reliable and easy to use. The attachments vary and perform different functions, all very helpful in picking up dirt. I use it everyday as we have 2 dogs.

I've also recommended Miele in prior posts - mine is 17 years old and still going strong! I'd say the suction is on par with my three year old central vac system which is ridiculously powerful!

We have a Miele canister vacuum. DH insisted upon it (he's German). Best vacuum I've ever owned. As long as I remember to change the bags when needed (and they're not expensive) that thing still has such amazing suction that when it's on highest power I can barely get it across the carpet. I also like that because it's a canister, most of the time all I'm dealing with is pushing the hose part and not the whole machine. It's lightweight enough to easily pick up and carry round stairs, which is a real plus as our house has 3 levels. Totally recommend it!

I used to love my old dyson but my new one has parts breaking every 3 months and I've paid out of pocket to get it fixed because costumer service takes too long. Get a Miele

I'm in the market for a new vacuum with some considerations: we have a dog that sheds a lot; two young children; hard woods, thick carpet, and linoleum; and two floors. Do you have a vacuum that your love? Price does not matter at this point. TIA
