Yep normal. 6yo boy holds it together very well at school. Model student. Loses his mind at the beginning of he school year.

We also had a meltdown with the grandparents. One set is usually totally permissive. I told them they needed to crack down and they did, and he held it together very well at an overnight. Saw the other grandparents and LOST IT because he assumed they'd spoil him.

So hard to be a kid!

We're MCPS, so it was week 2, but Holy Mother of all tantrums! Both 7yo and 9yo broke down in major ways.
9yo still having after shocks today.

4:18 - why is that interesting? Mine is like this. I find it better than the alternative of blowing off the steam in the school.

7 y o DS is having an insane tantrum right now in his bedroom. He hates all of us. I am blaming exhaustion.

It is always interesting when people who have well behaved children in school share that the child tantrums or can be unreasonable at home. Yes, this is normal and this too shall pass.

There was tantrum at my house tonight, but it was mom tantrum not kid tantrum. It has been a tough week.

yes, definitely. I think that's totally normal. It's exhausting for the kids to hold everything together all the time for a long week of school. It's stressful. It's one of those times you need to provide a safe place for them to fall apart.
