I haven’t slept in days. I wake up in the middle of the night and go out into my living room and start kicking the vent it’s hiding in. Screaming at it. He thinks he’s my pet I think. I just sprayed peppermint spider spray, worked for 5 mins. Now he’s mad. I just turned my heat up to 80 so he’s about to have his very own barbecue. Goodnight moon.

I actually just used diatomaceous earth on my dining room cricket and haven’t heard from it in two days! I was losing my mind…

Buy these sticky cricket traps. Open up your vent and place this just inside. Just don’t forget it’s in there. You’ll have to remove the trap with glued on carcasses. Gross but effective.

Super late but I was desperately searching for an answer to this question due to a cricket in my wall (or possibly intake vent, can’t be 100% sure). I took a fan and aimed it up the vent on high, and sprayed some diluted lavender essential oil on the actual vent itself. 20min later, cricket has been silent for over an hour. (There are multiple essential oils bugs like crickets dislike, including mint and lemon, so you could try those as well.) Hope this helps anyone who’s looking!

Try releasing a praying mantis in your vent... it will eat the cricket, and is much quieter.

I think you just have to wait it out.... I would not spray any poison that's just going to come back as an inhalant.
