Seriously though, that was three years ago. Are topics verboten for years after a long thread?

Do they at least take out the words "under god"?

A better question is, who are the idiot parents who "question" this?

Do all the students/families pledge to the USA flag?

I hope not. Not until they remove the five reference to God in the Declaration of Independence.
The Declaration of Independence is what it is. It's a piece of paper on which words were written, so you can't take things out. This is different then a pledge, which is a promise, an affirmation of that person, so it is appropriate to think that a person could alter the pledge that he is making to fit what he believes.

My DC is at a Charter. I wish they would bring it back.

My kids attend the same school as you OP and the few times I was in my child's class, it was too much commotion to even participate.

The teacher even mumbled it was a waste of two minutes. Furthermore you can barely hear it over the PA system.

Why is this a bad thing? Is the pledge of allegiance a bad thing now?

The few times I've been there after the bell rings, they've said it at Shepherd; I think right before announcements.

We have a new Principal this year who is now saying the Pledge of Allegiance with the morning announcements. When some parents questioned it, we were told that it was a DCPS requirement. Just curious, are your children saying the Pledge of Allegiance in their schools?
