Often the school secretary or assistant principal will know who the Girl Scout contact is for your school. Typically (not always) each troop is only for one grade, so you need to find an existing troop for your daughter's grade with openings, or rally a few other families to start a new troop. Check with the front office at your school and see if they know who you should contact.

Usually there's an elementary school coordinator who keeps a list of interested girls. It takes 5 girls and a willing parent volunteer to get a new troop started.

Contact the local council. http://gscnc.org/ They can tell you about available troops in your area.

Is there a Girl Scout troop at Bethesda Elementary - or closeby?
