She's wealthy as crap and that's how she does it. She does not represent the typical working mother in any way.

Before I actually had a child, I thought I would take 2 weeks off and jump right back to work. After struggling with work balance stress for years, I recently quit my job to be a SAHM.

I recently had a talk with DH and said that if things were different, I wish I could have been the breadwinner and my spouse could have been the default parent. DH earns almost $1 million per year while I was only earning low six figures. Economically it made more sense for me to be the default parent.

If she can make it work, more power to her.

I guess my comment was deleted for profanity? I basically was saying I'm tired of her "look at me, I'm such a hard worker" nonsense.

She can do this because she can hire a ton of support. She doesn't keep the same hours that her office drones do, etc.

She set up a nursery in her office after #1 and could bring her team of helpers to work-something her workers cannot do.

Oh, and she can work from home while she took that from her employees.

It might be enough time (barely) if the babies are taken immediately from the womb and put into the Nanny's arms for full time care.

Two weeks is not enough for a twin birth. I had 2 children and recovered quickly with both. Then I had twins. I ended up in the ER 4 weeks later with mild hemorrhaging. Twins is a whole other ballgame from a regular birth and recovery

She's not due until December. A LOT can happen with a twin pregnancy between months 6 and 9. I hope she has a healthy and easy continued pregnancy, but she'd do well not to declare what she's going to do in advance because twin pregnancies can be particularly unpredictable.

This story makes me sad. She is reportedly taking TWO WEEKS off after her twins are born? That is unbelievable, unrealistic, but I suppose she thinks it's necessary? I don't know.

She'll do fine; she hired a nanny before and brought the child to work, and I imagine she'll do the same again. Wealth helps.

plans on taking off limited time and working throughout. didn't really take a maternity leave for her son's birth a couple years ago.
I can't wait to see how she does (or doesn't ) do this.
