I pay my kids to do it, when they want to make some money.

I use the dust brush attachment to my vacuum cleaner and that usually does the job. If it still looks grungy, I'll wipe with a wet cloth.

I just use the dustmop attachment that came with my central vacuum and swipe it across my baseboards a few times a year. Mine don't seem to get very dirty but I also don't have kids so maybe that has something to do with it.

I do my floors biweekly. But I choose a different room to start in and do the baseboards in every time (so only one room of baseboards get done at a time). Really doesn't take me long. I do keep them spotless though. Doors and trim too.

It's a punishment at my house.

If my kids have been on a good streak, I run a Clorox wipe along the most visible floor boards (I don't move furniture). It takes 5-10 minutes.

I make my children clean them with wet rags. Their knees are younger than mine.

Magic eraser plus a bucket of Mrs. Meyers and a rag works the best.

I repaint baseboards about every 5 years though so they're rarely dingy. I also will recaulk if the caulk has gotten gunky.

I hateeeee baseboards. But if you don't clean them, especially if they are white, it is really noticeable and just makes a house feel grungy.

But also, worst cleaning chore.

On a bi-weekly basis, I hit them with my microfiber dust mop when I am using it on the floors. That thing works really well and the head on mine pivots so I can kind of get it on the wall, slide it down, and get the top of the baseboard and then rub it over.

A few times a year, I use the vacuum with the dust brush attachment.

Once a year, they get an on-the-floor wipe down with a wet rag/cleaner.

Ditto. Scrubbing Bubbles and a toothbrush. Use for heating vents, air returns, etc. Wear headphones to diminish the drudgery and boredom.

Vacuum them when I vacuum, sometimes. Then when they look really cruddy I get down on the floor with a rag, bucket of soapy water, and a toothbrush for the cruddy corners and scoot my way around the rooms. It sucks, and I only do that once a year or so.

It's such a back-breaking and overwhelming chore, but mine are overdue for a cleaning. Any tips or hints to make it not as horrible?
