Subject: Hands can't stop shaking
Essential tremor runs in my family. Hands shake all the time in the older folk. Mine shake sometimes and always have since I was a child, but I expect it will get a lot worse as I age.

This is what I was thinking. A friend of mine has it. Her hands shake so bad she can't hold a pen sometimes. It can be hard to drink unless the cup has a lid.
He likely needs a referral to a neurologist.

A good check is to see if his hands shake when he's using them intentionally versus when they're at rest. The former is ET, the latter is more likely Parkinson's. So if my dad is on the couch watching tv, his hands are almost still. But when he goes to pick up a fork, they shake like crazy.

Sounds like Essential Tremor. My dad has it. People used to gossip that he must have had a drinking problem..he doesn't. It's neurological. It also sucks.

It could be any mincer of things:
Drug side effect
Illegal drug (example, coming down off of Heroin)
Multiple sclerosis
ALS
Severe social anxiety
A million other neuro diseases, TBH

My cousin's hands shake a crazy amount - more and more every time I see him. Like uncontrollably. He puts his hands in his pocket Michael J Fox -style when he is talking to people. I spoke to his brother who says he is like that because of "way too much caffeine" which I am not buying.
