Do people display the postcard permit on their doors?

Call the homeowner permit line if you have questions. I had trouble getting a massage returned but good luck when they answered the phone.

Thanks! So, you just fill the online form, submit and pay, and immediately get a PDF that you just print and post on your door, without the need of any follow-up? Sounds good!

Call the Home Owners Center specifically if you need help. Ring them until they answer (it will be Mr. Bogle sp?). He's very helpful and as far as I know the only person who works in the office, but answers his phone and happily answers questions.

That's right! If DCRA is feeling sporty, maybe you'll get an inspector to swing by...though almost never. It's more of a "go away" for your nosy neighbors.

How do they work?
1) Do you simply fill in the appropriate postcard permit request, pay online, and immediately get a PDF of the permit which you can simply download and print, without the need of any follow up or inspection?
2) Or is it a bit more complex than that -- a delay so that it gets reviewed; or an inspection, or something of the sort?

Anyone BTDT? Is there any downside?
