I totally understand that when it comes from certain annoying people, good advice is left unheeded. My mother hounds me to death over certain food choices too, such as the fact that I don't include enough vegetables in our diet, which is true. However she chain-smokes, never does her physical therapy, and slathers butter over everything. Plus she's the type to nag and whine when things don't go her way. She's so annoying that my first impulse is to do exactly the opposite of what she says (very immature, I know - she triggers all kinds of mulish, childish behaviors!).

We very rarely eat dessert, fried foods, salty snacks, etc....we just aren't perfect. Anyway. I was venting, and of course should know that if I vent here, people won't be supportive, instead they'll tell me my parents must be right.
