Arguably McCain put the clown car in motion by listening to Bill Kristol and bringing Palin into what should have been an adult conversation about the direction in which our country should be headed. I think most of the Senate feels that way about Cruz.

I have a lot of sympathy for Boehner afer reading "It's Worse than It Looks" (Ornstein/Mann). That guy has a lot of crazy fuckers to deal with.

You do not know how much Boehner drinks, PP. His crying all the time points me to the conclusion (and of course I could be wrong) that he drinks a great deal on the sly.

An outlet? I was under the impression his tanning bed was for that sort of thing. Yep it's surely exhausting being driven around in a chauffeured Suburban as you hop from fundraiser to fundraiser. And goodness having to suffer through spending three days a week in DC is just too much to expect of a hardworking man who can't actually manage to get legislation other than that to repeal the ACA passed. Hope he enjoyed the August recess.

Boehner is a bit of a dick, but Cruz is an Executive-level asshole.

I hope that, as Republicans are deciding who they will support for the nomination, they're considering how well those people are regarded by the rest of the party in Congress. Cruz certainly can't count on support from the Democrats if elected President, and if he doesn't have the support of his own party, he will accomplish absolutely nothing as President.

I've got no love for Cruz, but I know Boehner and all I can say it that is takes one to know one.

At a fundraiser, John Boehner talked about how happy he was that Ted Cruz is out campaigning, because it's kept "that jackass" out of DC...

Not that I care much for John Boehner, but I couldn't agree more with him on this one. Happy to see Ted Cruz wasting his time out campaigning for a Presidency that he will never win, as opposed to being in DC causing any more damage in Congress...
