Just got an email for 25% off $1,000 or more with code SAVEMORE for today only.

That should help hide the annoying shipping fees.

NP. It's annoying. It's like airlines charging you $25 for a bag or $5 for headphones.

Should 10-15% off coupons really be targeted for fees? I'd rather have the savings on the item(s) purchased and not the fees tacked on top.

PB seems to have 2 types of fees. One is the shipping fee and the other is a delivery surcharge (which I assume is on furniture that is delivered right to your door and perhaps even set up in home?) There are definitely times when they send out emails offering reduced or no delivery surcharges. There are also free shipping days and every once in a blue moon, it includes furniture (more often than not, it excludes furniture). Get on their mailing lists. You may so want to consider their credit card. You get 10% back on stuff you charge at PB so if you are spending $10K, you'll get a $1K reward certificate the following month which you can then use on an additional piece of furniture. Just a suggestion. I agree their fees are annoying but you can offset them with a 15% or 20% off coupon.

C&B = flat delivery fee of $80
R&B = flat delivery fee of $80 PLUS free returns.

Some of their furniture is great. Some is crap. Their policies suck ass.

Agree with PP- you should be able to get a 15 off coupon with any change of address packet

You should definitely be able to get a 15% off coupon for your order somewhere (as someone mentioned another thread, you can probably get one by stopping by your local post office and picking up an address change packet), which in my experience is just enough to cancel out all the ridiculous fees they add on. At a time when everyone else is offering free shipping, PB's extra fees baffle me - I guess the idea is to lure customers in with lower prices on the furniture, and then extract extra money from them at check-out? It definitely dissuades me from buying from them.

I'm pretty sure that an in-store salesperson can make a deal to waive some of the fees. The phone reps are a total crapshoot. I got a really fantastic one once, who waived fees and really helped me out, but the rest of the time, they've been unwilling to bend on the official "rules" that you can only use one extra discount/coupon code per order.

Saw the same thing on West Elm . There was an gem surcharge, shipping and some other fee tacked on top of sales price and taxes.

This week, I met with someone from PB to discuss the purchase of a couple of couches, rugs and other items for our new home. The sales rep from PB just emailed me some estimates, which included "shipping and processing" fees. Apparently, the S&P fees are in addition to the $100+ delivery surcharges. I was surprised to see this. Is this normal for furniture stores? I have NO frame of reference since I've never actually purchased furniture from a store other than IKEA.

Do you think this fee has any wiggle room? My total order should be around $10,000-$15,000. Has any one had any luck in getting them to come down on their fees for a similarly sized order?
