I have never heard this before. Anecdotally, I can report that my very early teether DS was quite late to puberty. He was 15 before I noticed hair under his arms.

Wait, so early teething usually means late puberty? I would think it's the other way. I know it's anecdotal.

Thx.

The Dr saw him about 4 months ago and said no sign of puberty yet. I know it could happen quickly but visually he's the same as then.

My DH told me his growth stalled for a while right before he hit puberty, and then he shot up. Maybe he's about to hit puberty?

I would. It's outside of the 'normal' range' unless he's been on the very small side of the norm. But then you wouldn't worry.

Make an appointment with his pediatrician. We can't help you. There are a lot of factors to consider so see your doctor soon. If the doc thinks he needs it, you can see a pediatric endocrinologist.

measured him at home the other day, and he's only gained about 1 lb and 3/4 of an inch since a checkup last Aug at the drs. even when factoring in human error this doesn't sound like enough growth, especially compared with the CDC growth chart for his age. he eats and sleeps and exercises well in general, and has no medical issues. would you call the dr?
