Google actually found the opposite ... my friends son was being recruited to a big name school and the recruiter said, sure you can get an equal education elsewhere but recruiters are lazy.

I've been in business for a long time (and have Ivy League university degrees) and, to be honest, the most successful business people I've observed tend to come from less "name-brand" schools. A savvy recruiter might well look for someone at the top of the class at such an institution versus a middler at a so-called top school.
