He is on Prozac, a high dose for a kid-40 mg. We tried Risperdal and the weight gain was too severe to stay on it. Tried abilify instead and it seemed to help with the mood swings a bit but not as well as the Risperdal.

We spent a fortune on psychologists and found them not helpful. The only thing that has really helped even a small bit has been medications.

Thx. What medication? DS on tiny bit Prozac but wondering if we try Luvox or Zoloft which is "supposed" to be better for OCD.

We're starting to think our DS with confirmed anxiety some OCD and possible ASD and/or ADHD actually has a mood disorder. I guess since the treatments are all the same - which we are already doing - (therapy for both kid and family and anti-depressants) the diagnosis shouldn't matter. Just wondering if anyone has their kid under this pretty new category and what they have found most helpful. TIA
