Works well. But it is something you will do for the rit at of your life. On my case yes, It was longer than normal. So it will never be corrected. It's better than lazik because u don't have an issue in the night. (All that starburst will happen, for some more severe depending on Individuals)

I'm very nearsighted and read quite a bit about ortho-K, but never did it. My optometrist said it was fine, but didn't highly recommend it.

I just got regular soft contacts when I was in HS, and was more than happy with those! Now, they have some fantastic disposable contacts in various prescriptions, so maybe just do that for your DD?

My optometrist said that ortho-K doesn't really actually correct the nearsightedness, just flattens the cornea temporarily, and then the cornea goes back to it's normal shape. From what I understand, if you're nearsighted, your eyeball is longer than normal, and you can't really change that!

DH had them many years ago. They worked but he never reached a point where he didn't have to wear them every night. Eventually he got LASIK. I'd say he was satisfied with them but I always found them odd.

I've heard about these contact lenses that you wear at night that corrects your vision - (think invisalign for eyes!)
I am looking for feedback as we think about them for our 13 year old DD.

Orthokeratology (ortho-k) is the fitting of specially designed gas permeable contact lenses that you wear overnight. While you are asleep, the lenses gently reshape the front surface of your eye (cornea) so you can see clearly the following day after you remove the lenses when you wake up.
