I am suggesting that, even though grossly sexist and unfair, women are judged differently from men and that how a woman looks is frequently how she is judged.
Men are not judged similarly and, yes, her looks would be a factor, small, but still a factor.
I met a man who told me that he voted for one particular presidential candidate because the other candidate's wife hairstyle bothered him.
