Mine is sealed. No problems so far.

Honestly... They make some really really cute peel and stick backsplash tiles now. Google them. They aren't much cheaper than regular stone tile, but much easier to install and remove. That way you can g whatever strikes your fancy and not worry about it being in style in 20 years.

I personally don't care for subway tile, but it is popular. I also dont like glass since I think it will soon look dated. I would go with marble I could afford it ( I cant)

Mosaic glass seems to be really in style, but we don't like it and avoided it in our new kitchen. We went with classic white subway tile with grey grout.

i love subway tile, always have.
it's been around for quite awhile now so not sure it's about to go out of style.

Exactly! Subway tile is about as classic as you can get. Not really a trend.

Marble subway tile for us. The chevron marble looked too busy.

For a very small kitchen, I think a backsplash that matches the countertops is best. It never goes out of style.

I hate mosaics, glass tiles and the granite lip that many people leave.

We used gray subway tiles with a subtle texture.

Search blanco arabesque on Home Depot. There are similar sales in different sizes from every source. I prefer the larger, individual tiles like this from Lowes. Plenty of high end options if you want that too.
