5 guys for 6 hours? With that many people, they'll be done in less than 2 hours, maybe one hour if they hustle.

We paid about $900 for a medium/large floating wooden deck with concrete pileons to be taken down.

And no, not on a foundation. Just a wooden shed.

OP again -- Their estimate sucks - no detail. I am sure the tipping fee won't exceed $400 and yet they quote 1100. So, truck costs? Labor is 1300. Not sure I think this company is worth it but running out of time.

That does seem high. I agree with getting a few guys to do it. Buy one of these and get it hauled away: http://www.wm.com/residential/bagster-bag.jsp

Post it on craig's list or free cycle and offer it for free if they remove.

We had a small one removed for $500.

That's what it costs to buy and install (a small) one. Seems hard to believe it would cost that much to remove it.

Is it on a concrete slab? Maybe that is why the price is so high.

A couple hours with a sledge, prybar and sawzall will be all it takes, unless this is some cinder block or old brick shed. If you can't or won't do it yourself: 2-3 guys from the HD parking lot. They'll be done with debris in neat piles inside of 3 hours for a couple hundred bucks. Only additional cost is somebody to haul the debris away; craigslist is a good option there.

Seems high. When we tore down our 50s ranch to build new, only cost $8K to $10K to rip down the entire house and haul it away, including the foundation. Get a dumpster, a chainsaw, and do it yourself.

Is this too high or just right? Medium to large shed.
