I like that my wife is educated with a graduate degree, but I do not care if she has a career, unless she wants to. Fortunately for our family, she takes pride in being a SAHM. I could not be happier, or more proud of her.

You might think that's a smart plan today.

How old are you, 18? There's a huge difference between "going to college" and "not having a college degree." Really doesn't matter much between the ages of 18-24.

Are you this obtuse in real life?

Of course not. All we ask is that they have some means of supporting themselves and bringing that support into our family. In fact, I always warn men who marry women without decent careers, and I'm not talking prestigious vs not prestigious. I'm talking designing custom children's clothing because you don't want to hold down a real job and/or mom and dad are paying the rent. These women obviously don't want to work and they will bring that cancerous attitude into your marriage/family.

Wow, that's quite the resume.

and none of my suitors cared if I was a doctor or lawyer.

Why would they?

They were all doctors lawyers or engineers.

Yeah, I bet.

My sister who is gorgeous is a waitress and is being pursued by a NASA scientist. She doesn't even have a college degree.

I highly doubt some NASA scientist is going to seriously date some broad who only graduated from HS because it was her social avenue. Sure if she's hot and she polishes trailer hitches, then I'm sure he'll go out with her. But seriously date her? No chance.

My honest opinion? Your story is complete BS.

I would never have considered a serious relationship with a woman who doesn't have a career. DW was finishing her master's degree when we met, which while not a career clearly put her on that path. I take great pride in her professional successes and really like the fact that we are both advancing in our (separate, extremely different) careers at much the same rate -- we both got promotions this year.

Yes I do. Because a woman with a career is going to have a lot more in common with me.

I love that my wife has a career - and she does too. A gripe that she had about ex's though, is that they expected her to be a sahm once they had kids.

I've always been of the belief that men don't care if a woman has a career. I'm in my late twenties now but I've worked retail and as an unpaid intern and none of my suitors cared if I was a doctor or lawyer. They were all doctors lawyers or engineers. My sister who is gorgeous is a waitress and is being pursued by a NASA scientist. She doesn't even have a college degree.

So what do you think? Men tell us your honest opinions.
