Mine always shows at least 1 pound lighter the second time I step on it (as in seconds later) Guess which weight I choose to believe?

OP here. Thanks for the answers. I am actually trying to loose weight and weighing myself 1-2 times a week. When the measures are off by a 1 lbs. it makes me wonder if I can trust the scale or not on a week-to-week basis. I know i'll see a general downward trend eventually (at least I hope) but it would be nicer to have more immediate feedback

Op same thing happens with my digital scale. I get off and on usually three times because it will fluctuate like that.

And a level floor. Our hardwood can be a little uneven. I had to put it on the bathroom floor.

Short answer - it is not lying, you have gained weight.

1-2% seems reasonable for a home spring based scale. For someone at 200 lbs, that would be 2-4 lbs.

In doctors offices, they use more precise instruments.

A pound is normal.

I have a scale and am wondering if it's time for a replacement. It can vary as much as a pound if I step on and then off of it. Is that normal?

If not, will a new scale fix the problem and do you have suggestions for ones that are more consistent?
